Creating Freebie Opt-Ins For Your Bakery Business

We thought we would explain more on how to use and create freebie opt-ins for your bakery that do not require you to provide coupons, discounts, or free products to your customers.

On a side note, my team and I were talking about all the opt-in suggestions that we created, and realized if you didn’t want to do all of them as an opt-in (because those were a lot of ideas), then we suggest using those ideas as a blogging or microblogging prompt.

Did you know that Instagram is a great platform to allow you as a business to microblog without actually having to run a blog. Do you struggle with captions and engaging with your audience on Instagram? We suggest using some of these ideas as a way to microblog on Instagram.

If you are not really sure how to use IG or other social media to microblog, then we want to provide you an opportunity to learn about our social media training program for bakeries. You can learn more here [LINK].

Let’s talk about how to use the ideas we provided in our article titled Build An Email List For Your Bakery Even Without A Storefront [LINK] to create opt-ins for your bakery that do not require coupons.

Checklist:

For a checklist, I would choose a topic that you cover in your bakery. So if you do a lot of wedding cakes maybe do something like the following: Checklist For 5 Most Important Items When Planning A Wedding In St. Louis, MO. In this checklist I would put the top 5 most important items of planning a wedding like the wedding venue, florist, photographer, dj, and wedding cake. At the bottom of your freebie, I would include a bio about your bakery, photos, and cake flavors.

Top Lists:

When you build a top list, I would look to Google or Pinterest and do some keyword searches to see what populates in your area.
An example of a top list would be like the following: Top 10 Things To Do While Visiting St. Louis, MO

In this top 10 list, I would include several must see places in the St. Louis, MO area along with a small snippet about each place and maybe a few tips as a local. I would also include a section about making a stop at my bakery on this list or an event that I am at on this list.

For example, do you go to a farmer’s market every week or for attend a certain festival, then add that to this list.
I think you are starting to get the idea of how to build your freebie for your customers. I want to challenge you to sit down this week and brainstorm one or two freebies that you could create for your customers.

We got together with a bunch of other bakery owners and brainstormed ways to create opt-ins, freebies (that are not coupons) and other ways to get people onto your email list. You can get a copy of the entire 30 min brainstorm by signing up [here]. In here we go into depth on ideas to use for your bakery business.

If you have not started an email list for your bakery, then we want you to read the following two articles on why you need an email list for your bakery business even if you do not have a storefront and how to get started.
