Lemon American Buttercream

We really enjoy baking with lemon and citrus flavors. We use this recipe with our chocolate cupcakes. You can just say "yum" we know.

Equipment

  • Mixer

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Unsalted butter; room temperature MUST BE ROOM TEMPERATURE
  • 60 oz Powdered Sugar
  • 1 lemon Zested
  • 1 oz Lemon extract

Instructions
 

  • Use whisk attachment to whisk together your butter, lemon extract, and lemon zest.
  • Then add your powdered sugar.
  • Leave on for 10 minutes and walk away.
  • After 10 minutes you will have fluffy delicious lemon American Buttercream.

Notes

Want to make your recipe keto-friendly? Just substitute the powdered sugar for a sugar substitute like Swerve. We like Swerve because it can be exchanged at a 1:1 ratio.
